Day 6

A Picture that makes me happy.
I'm cheating and putting three. It's my blog so I can do that.

This pictures makes me smile everytime I see. This was taken at my moms birthday party this past August. We had a pinata and we were all taking turns hitting it. My aunt went up to hit it and something hilarious happened. For sake of her not hating me, I'm not gonna say. But we were all dying laughing. Literally, I thought I was gonna die cause I couldn't breathe from laughing so hard. This also shows what happens just about everytime my mom, my aunt, and my grandma get together. Something will make them laugh and they will get the giggles. It literally happens everytime they're together. And once someone gets the giggles, it's all downhill from there. It's like a chain reaction and eventually we're all crying from laughing so hard. I love my family. :)
This is my kitty Darcy and he's my baby. I think this picture is adorable, but others have said he looks like a Gremlin. I just think it's cute how he's so close to the camera. Honestly, he's a pretty mean cat. But I love him. He has a personality like no other cat I know. But isn't he cute?! He talks too. When we wants out, he'll walk around the house and yell, not say, but yell "HELLLLOOOO!!!!" until we let him out. He's hilarious and I love him!
From left to right: My cousin Garrett, cousin Cory, Courtney, me, and my cousin Briana. We're all in my grandparents room at their house. There's no telling what we're doing in this picture but it makes me happy because it reminds me of growing up at Wawas house. We would run around doing the weirdest stuff together, but we always kept busy. Now, Cory is in Virginia so we don't see him as often, but the rest of us haven't changed much. When we're all together we have a great time and something always happens that leaves us with a memory

Day 5

Before I get started on Day 5, I have to blow off some steam. COLLEGE IS HARD PEOPLE!!! I've been working on a research paper all day long. It took me about 4 hours just to read all the documents. Granted, it's about happiness in adoptions and adoption is something I'm really interested in. But still, it's hard! And I'm pretty sure my brain is about to be totally dead. So I'm writing this post to just give my brain a break. I don't think I need to really think a lot to write this, but if you see something that doesn't make sense, then you'll know why.

I'm just going to start with saying that I have some pretty dang good siblings. So here we go.

Courtney

I put both of these pictures up because the first one is both of us and the second one shows how goofy she can be. Courtney and I are about 3 years apart. Growing up, we didn't get along at all. I'm pretty sure it's because we had to share a room until I was about 13 or so. But now, we love each other haha When Courtney moved to Florida after she got married, it was super hard for me. I never really let her know that, cause she didn't like it over there very much either so I was always positive about it. But I hated it. Now, she lives in Austin which is just about an hour and 45 minutes from me and it's great. Courtney is the type who will do whatever she can to help you. She's always willing to help me out whenever I need it and she always knows what to say to make me feel better. Also, she's pretty dang smart. I mean, who else do you know that graduated from Baylor in 3 years with a 3.9 gpa?? We have an amazing relationship now and I really don't know what I would do without her. We can be totally weird around each other(and we are) and we know its okay!

Joey
I LOVE that first picture of Joey and I. It's at the reception after Courtney's wedding and I just love it. The second picture makes me laugh every time I see it. It proves just how hilarious my family is. Joey is about 6 years older than me. He moved to Nashville for college when I was still in middle school. Regardless, it was really weird without him being there. He's seriously one of the smartest people I know. And even though he can be super frustrating sometimes(just because he's my older brother), I wouldn't trade him for anything. He can do pretty much anything he sets his mind to and I really look up to that.

Justin
Justin is my brother in law, but I consider him my brother. I love both of these pictures of Justin. The first one was at my moms birthday party at Wawa's house and that's his Zoolander look. The second one is him in some sort of plane and you can tell he's ecstatic about being there. Justin is a pilot in case you weren't aware. Justin and Courtney started dating the spring of their junior year in high school and got married on June 19, 2010. I seriously couldn't think of anyone better to be married to Courtney. This guy loves her so much and fits in with our family perfectly. Of course, we pick on each other. But that's what we're supposed to do! When it all comes down to it, I love him. Even though I'll always be a little mad at him for stealing Courtney and making her live in awful for a year, he's the perfect brother in law.

Try not to be jealous of my siblings. It's hard, I know ;)

Day 4

My friends are pretty great, not gonna lie. I also don't just have one best friend. So I guess the easiest way to do this is to go friend by friend and explain a little bit.

btw- these pictures are in no order whatsoever. They're just my closest friends and I don't love any of them more than the other one!
Bekah
This here is one of my best friends Bekah. I guess we first started to get to know each other my junior year in SAT Prep. Then we kinda drifted apart. This past April, we both went to Passion with our church and since then, we've pretty much been best friends. She knows me inside and out and is always there when I need her. I can tell this girl anything and she'll tell me what she honestly thinks about it. Even if it's not what I wanna hear, she'll tell me. Which I think is a great quality. We have tons of inside jokes and I'm not gonna lie, we're hilarious together.  Her family is pretty much my family and I know I can go over to her house at any time and just hang out. I don't know what I would do without this girl in my life.

Hunter
Oh goodness. I don't even know where to start with this guy. Hunter is pretty much like my brother. He's mean to me, picks on me, and is just completely ridiculous. But I love that. He knows he can always call on me when he needs me and I can do the same with him. We can tell each other anything, even if we don't wanna hear it, and it won't effect our friendship. He's also one of the smartest guys I know and he definitely uses that against me. I don't think I've ever been around him and not laughed.  I love this boy and even though sometimes I think he likes my mom more than he likes me, I wouldn't trade our friendship for anything.

 Megan
Oh Megan. We've known each other since about 6th grade. We first started to get to know each other through tennis and our friendship just grew from there. I can tell her absolutely anything and she knows just what to tell me to make me feel better. We are a lot alike and it's gotten to the point where I'm pretty positive we just have one mind. I can say anything around her and I know she won't judge me for what I'm saying, and more than likely, she's thinking the same thing. Even though we're like 4 hours apart now and by the time I see her, it'll be Thanksgiving, I have no doubt we'll stay best friends.

 Roy
Things have been interesting with Roy. At first, he was just Bekah's older brother. But now, he's one of my closest friends. If you know Roy at all, you know he'll tell you like it is. Which for me, is a great thing, cause I definitely need that sometimes. I can call him and talk to him for hours just about life. He has a passion for playing music and especially for playing music for Christ. Our friendship has definitely come a long way in the past month or so, but it means a lot to me.

JC
Jordan Chase. I remember when JC first moved to Rockport freshman year. He was SO quiet! Now, he's totally the opposite. As you can tell from this picture, our rival colleges are a big part of our friendship. We can joke back and forth and tease each other about things, but we both know it's all in good fun. I know I can run to this boy with anything and he'll help me through it. Like Hunter, this guy is pretty like my brother. He's mean to me, picks on me, and gives possibly the most painful fake hugs ever. But I love him! Our friendship is super important to me and I know that'll never change.

Briana
I wasn't sure whether to put Briana on my friends post or my siblings post. We're cousins but I think of her more as a sister. We grew up together playing in Wawa's backyard and now we're living at Baylor together. Most people said that by October we would probably be tired of living with each other, but we're definitely not! We have tons of fun and everyday it seems like we have a new inside joke.  We can be(and are) totally weird around each other and that's perfectly fine. I don't know what I would do without her in my life. I don't think anyone knows me as well as she does. She's my cousin, but also one of my best friends.

In short, I'm pretty blessed with the people I have in my life. I always keep this in mind and I definitely don't take them for granted.

Day 3

Day 3 is  my first love. Which makes it kinda difficult because I've never been in love. But you know what? I'm perfectly fine with that. This post actually comes along at a perfect time because this is what we're talking about in my Individual and Family Development class. We had to write a paper answer about 15 questions about relationships and everything that goes along with them. In my opinion, Christians have to keep Christ at the center of their relationships. Everything a couple does should revolve around living a Christ-like life. One cannot be in a serious relationship without having a solid relationship with Christ as the foundation. Most 19 year old girls would be panicked that they hadn't been in love. But I'm not. One thing I've noticed about college girls is that they are obsessed with getting married. It seems like the only reason they are at college is to get a ring by Spring. For me, I'm just living my life for Christ the best I can. When He thinks I'm ready for that one guy to be in my life, He'll put him there. I have to have faith that God has it all under control.

In the paper, we had to write about what we want in a spouse. This made me realize that I have some pretty high standards. But I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing. I have to keep these standards in order for me not to settle with a guy I don't belong with. First off, he has to be Christian and he has to live as a man of Christ. That's the single most important thing. He also has to have a sense of humor and love sports. And my family has to love him. If I were seriously dating someone and my family didn't like him, that would be a serious dealbreaker. My family knows better than I do so if they see something wrong with the guy, they're probably right. This might be a little vain, but I would really really like it if he were taller than me. Just a little added bonus.

So do me a favor will ya? If you happen to run across a tall, Christian guy that is funny and love sports, send my way and I would greatly appreciate it. :)

In the meantime, I'm gonna say this guy is my first love until the real one comes along.
This is Shemar Moore and in my opinion, he is one of the most attractive men alive. But that's just me.

I would normally post a funny picture but I don't want to take away from the greatness of Shemar. I just couldn't do that to him.
Have a great day!

Day 2

So day 2 is the meaning of my blog name. I kinda jumped the gun and already did a post about what the name means so I guess I'll just go into a little more depth.

John 3:30 is one of my favorite verses and it states, "He must increase, but I must decrease."
*Disclaimer* DON'T FREAK OUT ABOUT WHAT I'M ABOUT TO SAY!!!
I actually want a tattoo on my wrist that simply says John 3:30. Just black, small lettering. But don't worry, I'm not gonna get a tattoo. Although I do think it would be a good witnessing tool, it would disappoint and upset a lot of people in my family. I know tons of people would be disappointed in me and that means more to me than my wants. But we'll talk about that in a later post. :)
Okay, back to the name. I try to live my life by this verse. It sounds really simple but it's a tough verse to live by and I know I don't hold up my end of the deal all the time. In everything we do, we're supposed to seek God's will and put His words before our wants. Trust me people, it's a hard lesson to learn, but it's definitely worth it.

I guess that's all I have so here's another funny picture.

Two things to remember about this post:
1. Live for God, not yourself.
2. I'M NOT GETTING A TATTOO AND NEVER WILL.

Have a great night!

Day 1

It says to introduce myself, but if I have to introduce myself, it kinda creeps me out that you're reading my blog. Regardless, my name is Erin Albin! I'm studying Child and Family Studies at Baylor and I love it.  Next, I have to post a recent picture. I'm gonna post 2 though. One is a less attractive picture but I'm posting it because it is the most recent picture. It was taken not even 20 minutes ago. The other one is a pretty picture of me haha Hopefully you can tell the difference.
Picture uno
